It is clear that without education we as a nation would be nowhere. When G-d wished to give the Torah to the Jewish people he insisted on collateral. The Jewish people offered all kinds of wealth, which G-d refused. It is only when they offered their children as collateral, meaning they would transmit all of their Torah learning to future generations, that G-d agreed to let them have the Torah.

Education has been the forefront of our defense against assimilation and intermarriage. When we appreciate who we are as a nation and how we are connected through the Torah to G-d, it gives us the greatest pride and self esteem possible. When we learn about the fact that we have a G-dly soul that yearns for expression through the performance of the commandments in the Torah, it changes our perspectives completely. We then respect the interest and desire of our parents and teachers who gave us this great gift, and we pass it along to our children and future generations.

We need to take a look at the Jews and the Torah objectively and find out why they are so special to each and every Jew.
